MySQL Launcher 1.2
Last update 19/03/2009
MySQL Launcher 1.2 comes with many changes inside and outside the code. In the previous version, it was possibile to communicate only with the same MySQL version installed on my Mac, due to a logical error. Now, the application loads dinamically the main MySQL library installed on your Mac, and communicates with it! Hopefully, this new version won’t crash if it’s impossible to load the library.
Other changes are related to the user experience improvement: the GUI has been partially redesigned, and so the main Icon.
I’ve also implemented the toolbar icon menu in the top-right of the screen, the dinamic icon in the Dock and the real time update of the interface, all synchronised with the server status (running/stopped).
MySQL Launcher 1.2 uses BWToolkit, created by Brandon Walkin.

Known “bugs”
MySQL Launcher 1.2 doesn’t fully support MySQL Server 6.0.9 alpha, probably duing to a fork process problem.
There’re also problems related to 64bit version of MySQL Server. I’m working on x86_64 support in order to load the libmysqlclient.dylib 64bit version.

Hi,
why is this Intel only?
Thanks!
Hi Peter,
this little app uses a series of features compatible with Intel CPUs. The main problem is that I’ve got only a Mac, and it’s Intel.
Did you try this app on a PowerPC?
Let me know
Thanks
Can this app be used to automatically start MAMP at login?
No, this application is compatible only with the official MySQL distribution.
